Tony Parker passes Michael Jordan for 8th on all-time playoff assists list

When you go your entire 13-year career without missing the playoffs, winning three championships in four NBA Finals appearances in the process, you're going to tally up some impressive statistics.

On Sunday night, it was Tim Duncan making the big waves by earning a tie for first on the NBA's all-time playoff double-double leaderboard, but teammate Tony Parker is making an assault of his own on the record books.

In the third quarter of Game 2, Parker dished his fourth assist of the game, giving him 1,023 playoff assists for his career and moving him into eighth all-time, one spot ahead of Michael Jordan, who you may recall was pretty successful in the playoffs himself.

While Parker won't ever sniff Magic Johnson's record 2,346 playoff assists, fourth place - Larry Bird with 1,062 - is a very realistic goal. Parker has averaged 5.3 dimes over his 193 playoff games along with 18.9 points, enough to rank him 13th all-time, one spot ahead of Jordan's famous teammate Scottie Pippen.
