Barton will be a part of the roster that the Blazers send to the Las Vegas Summer League.

Analysis:

After making leaps both on and off the court, the guard supplied a similar line to his rookie campaign, with 4.0 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 9.4 minutes per game. Although he merely made appearances in exactly half of the regular season slate, displaying his irregular usage, he didn't endure a stint in the D-League. Moreover, general manager Neil Olshey said Barton won't be cut prior to July 31, which guarantees his contract for next season. Making his residence in Portland for the summer could help Barton become the "lockdown" defender that Olshey and coach Terry Stotts believe he'll eventually become, and if Mo Williams (groin) departs in free agency, Barton would be in the mix to pick up additional work.
