David West's scratched right eye 'alright,' cleared for Game 3

Marc Lebryk / USA Today Sports

David West isn't the first "West" to suffer an eye injury, but he can't complain what Norris Cole did to his right eye, because look what an accident did to Left Eye.

If you understood that lede, we can be pals. If not, allow us to explain: During Game 2 between the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night, Cole caught West in the right eye with a wayward finger as he fought around a screen:

West was reportedly sore afterwards but on Thursday said the eye scratch is "alright," and that team ophthalmologist has cleared him to play in Game 3 on Saturday in Miami.

That's good news for the Pacers, as West is averaging 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the playoffs. He's also tallied 29 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists in the first two games of this series, with the Pacers outscoring the Heat by 19 points in his 68 minutes.
