Report: Knicks and Steve Kerr hitting road blocks in contract negotiations
There seems to be mutual interest between the New York Knicks and Steve Kerr in making the Phil Jackson disciple the team's new head coach, yet the sides remain without a deal.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the sides may disagree on Kerr's value.
Knicks have been slow to overpay Steve Kerr in deal length or salary, sources say. Tried treating him closer to 1st-time coach than a star.

It's hard to disagree with the Knicks' side, as Kerr would be a first-year coach. Also, the team is paying Phil Jackson a pretty penny to be the team's president, so dishing another big chunk of cash out to a coach seems less than ideal for James Dolan.
Additionally, Marc Berman of the New York Post notes another stumbling block for the two sides to deal with.
The Post has learned Kerr still owns a tiny piece of the Suns - believed to be less than 1 percent - which he will have to divest. The NBA will grant him an allotted amount of time to sell his piece.
Phoenix owner Robert Sarver - like Kerr, a University of Arizona alum - confirmed Kerr still has financial interest in the Suns
Even still, Berman notes that Kerr still considers the Knicks the "clear frontrunner" for his services, and that his camp hopes a deal can be reached this week, "perhaps as soon as Monday or Tuesday."
