Pacers' Al Jefferson: Will miss two weeks with sprained ankle

Jefferson (ankle) will be sidelined at least two weeks.

Analysis:

An X-ray on Jefferson's left ankle came back negative earlier in the week, but the sprain is severe enough to potentially keep the big man out for the rest of the regular season. He'll be reevaluated ahead of a potential playoff run for the Pacers, but if the team ends up failing to qualify, it's possible we've seen the last of Jefferson this season. He's turned in the worst production since his rookie campaign while occupying a bench role in 2016-17, turning in averages of 8.1 points and 4.2 boards in 14.1 minutes per game. His absence will allow Rakeem Christmas to work as the primary understudy to starting center Myles Turner over the next handful of games.
