Pelicans' DeMarcus Cousins: Expects to play Sunday

Cousins (knee/ribs) said he expects to play Sunday against the Timberwolves, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Cousins was held out of action in Friday's win over the Rockets after taking a knee to the stomach during Wednesday's loss to the Heat, and while he's still dealing with soreness, the All-Star doesn't expect to miss further time. Assuming that's the case, Cousins would likely push Dante Cunningham, who played 39 minutes Friday, back to a lower-minute role off the bench.
