Lakers' Nick Young: Dropped from rotation Sunday

Young (coach's decision) failed to see the floor in a 118-116 loss to the 76ers on Sunday.

Analysis:

We've already seen coach Luke Walton exile Luol Deng and Timofey Mozgov from the rotation with the Lakers turning their attention toward 2017-18, and it looks like Young is the latest veteran to drop out of the mix. After starting in all 58 of his appearances prior to Sunday, Young was dropped to the bench in favor of rookie David Nwaba, who split the minutes at shooting guard with Jordan Clarkson and Tyler Ennis. The 20-46 Lakers have little incentive to give the 31-year-old meaningful run over the final month of the season, so it wouldn't be surprising if he remained out of the rotation for good.
