Lakers' D'Angelo Russell: Leads team in scoring in loss to Mavericks

Russell scored 22 points (8-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT) while adding four assists, four steals and one rebound across 33 minutes during Tuesday's 122-111 loss to the Mavericks.

Analysis:

Russell got off to an inauspicious start to the game and failed to score in the third quarter, but he got hot during garbage time in the fourth and helped the Lakers add a shred of respectability to a scoreline that was lopsided for most of the night. The second-year pro has taken a step forward since the All-Star break, averaging 20.8 points, 5.5 assists, 2.7 treys and 2.2 steals per game over the last six.
