Hawks' Dwight Howard: Grabs 19 boards in loss to Warriors
Howard scored eight points (3-4 FG, 2-6 FT) and added 19 rebounds and one block in 29 minutes during Monday's 119-111 loss to the Warriors.
Analysis:
Howard committed five turnovers Monday. He has been turnover prone lately, committing 15 turnovers over his last four games, despite averaging only 2.1 per game before that stretch. It has corresponded with a slight increase in minutes, from 29.3 to 30.8, and the Hawks have played four games in six days. It is possible, therefore, that the extra turnovers are a sign that the 31-year-old 13-year veteran may be showing signs of fatigue - but that explanation feels inadequate in the face of his 19 rebounds. The alternative explanation is that it is simply a slump that he will pass out of with time.
