Nuggets' Kenneth Faried: Expected to miss at least a week

Coach Michael Malone said Tuesday he expects Faried (back) to remain out for the next seven-to-10 days, Nick Kosmider of the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Faried didn't travel with the Nuggets to Chicago in advance of Tuesday's game against the Bulls, instead opting to remain in Denver to receive treatment for his lower back spasms. Assuming the timeline Malone provided holds up, Faried stands to miss at least the next four games, which will likely allow Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler to both regularly clear the 30-minute mark as the team's starting forwards. Darrell Arthur should also see an expanded role in the rotation off the bench while Faried is sidelined.
