Carmelo moves past Barkley for 25th in all-time scoring

USA Today Sports

Carmelo Anthony may not have any rings, but he will be in the top 10 in NBA scoring when it's all said and done.

Anthony moved past Charles Barkley for 25th on the all-time scoring list with his 25-point effort against the San Antonio Spurs. He entered Sunday's contest seven back of Sir Charles with 23,750 career points.

He also drained two dagger jumpers in the final two minutes to help the Knicks steal a surprising 94-90 victory over the Spurs.

The next great for Anthony to surpass is Vince Carter, who is still kicking around at the age of 40 but only holds a lead of 577 points. Moving past Carter would make Anthony the league's fourth-most prolific active scorer behind Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James, and Paul Pierce.

The 32-year-old is roughly 3,500 from cracking the top 10. He would need roughly two healthy seasons at his current scoring average of 23 points per game to reach that mark.
