Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon will compete in the 2017 Slam Dunk contest during All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.

Gordon famously finished as the runner-up to two-time champion Zach LaVine in February after the two treated fans in Toronto to perhaps the greatest dunk contest of all time.

LaVine outlasted Gordon by stringing together a number of free-throw line dunks, but it was Gordon who had the dunk of the night when he put the ball under his legs while jumping over a mascot.

It's unclear if LaVine will compete, but chances are good he will want to defend his throne. If so, that would set up what every NBA fan is begging for - a rematch.
