Report: Ronaldinho offered another spell in Brazil by Coritiba

In 2015, Fluminense ripped up Ronaldinho's contract after it became clear the childlike genius wasn't in good enough shape to make any type of impact for the Guerreiros. It was a sad ending for a player who exudes happiness, and it left Brazilians wondering how much gas the product of Gremio had left in the tank.

But one Brazilian club is reportedly willing to roll the dice.

According to ESPN Brasil's Marcus Alves, Coritiba's board of directors held a meeting Monday morning and approved an offer for Ronaldinho, who turns 37 years old in March. The proposal apparently includes a mansion next to the the club's training centre, security guards, and a fixed salary of R$ 300,000 per month.

Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, allegedly signalled that his sibling and client was looking for a similar contract to the one he received at Clube Atletico Mineiro, who paid the Brazilian phenom more than R$ 700,000 per month between 2012 and 2014, R$ 300,000 of which was fixed while the rest was accumulated through bonuses.

Whether Coritiba's counter-proposal is accepted remains to be seen, but Assis is reportedly expected to give an answer by Wednesday. Meanwhile, to make the agreement feasible, the Coxa's marketing department is apparently trying to attract partners and chase investors.

At Fluminense, Ronaldinho played all of nine games before his contract was broken by mutual agreement. Should he pull on Coritiba's green shirt, it will be fascinating to see whether he can produce a brief comeback and show flashes of his brilliance, or whether fitness and a lack of drive will result in another dark chapter.
