Report: Nets waive Anthony Bennett, sign Quincy Acy

The Brooklyn Nets have waived former power forward Anthony Bennett, the team announced Monday.

Brooklyn is signing free-agent forward Quincy Acy to a 10-day contract to fill Bennett's roster spot, league sources tell ESPN's Marc Stein.

Drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 Draft, Bennett has struggled to live up to the hype during his young NBA career, bouncing around four teams in four seasons.

The 23-year-old averaged five points and 3.4 rebounds on 41.3 percent shooting in 23 games for the Nets this season.

Acy began the year with the Dallas Mavericks before being waived in November. The 6-foot-7 forward is averaging 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 225 career games.
