Lakers' Julius Randle: Struggles on both ends in loss to Brooklyn

Randle had just 6 points (2-8 FG, 2-5 FT), 10 rebounds and an assist Wednesday in a 97-107 loss to the Nets.

Analysis:

Randle (hip) was a late removal from the Lakers' injury report Tuesday, and his lack of mobility showed against the Nets. He had trouble exploding to the basket, and didn't appear to have much lift in his mid-range shot. Randle was already predictable for opposing defenses before his injury -- he can only go left -- so any kind of ailment really shows up in his game more than most. Randle did collect 10 rebounds, but had a hard time making rotations on defense and couldn't budge Brook Lopez off the block. It'd be wise to reevaluate his level of play after he regains his explosiveness. It'd be equally unwise to write him off before then.
