Wizards' Ian Mahinmi: Ruled out with knee soreness Monday

Mahinmi is dealing with soreness in his right knee and will sit out Monday's game against the Kings, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

After undergoing surgery in October on his left knee, Mahinmi was sidelined for the early portions of the season, but was able to make his debut on Saturday versus the Spurs. He exited that game without any setbacks to his surgically-repaired left knee, but is now dealing with some soreness in his other knee, so he'll be held out Monday. It's reportedly just a precautionary measure and the injury isn't expected to be serious, so he could be back in the lineup as soon as Wednesday's tilt with the Thunder. Look for guys like Jason Smith and Andrew Nicholson to potentially see more time at center behind starter, Marcin Gortat.
