Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard: Halted by Clippers in second half of back-to-back
Lillard was limited to eight points (1-10 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), one assist and one rebound across 28 minutes in Wednesday's 111-80 loss to the Clippers.
Analysis:
After pulling out a hard-fought win over the Suns one night earlier, Lillard and the Trail Blazers looked gassed for the second half of the back-to-back set, falling behind by 29 points at the break and as many as 44 points in the second quarter. The shooting struggles of Lillard and C.J. McCollum, who went a combined 5-of-21 from the field and 0-of-6 from three-point range, is a recipe for disaster any night, but fortunately, the duo rarely turns in these kind of games. Indeed, even after Wednesday's clunker, Lillard is still holding down a career-high average of 30.0 points per game while shooting an impressive 48.3 percent from the floor.
