Nets' Isaiah Whitehead: Shooting woes crop up in preseason play

Whitehead scored five points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and added one steal and one blocked shot across 17 minutes in Sunday's 120-99 preseason loss to the Celtics.

Analysis:

Whitehead's deficiencies as a shooter were well documented coming out of Seton Hall, and the rookie second-round pick hasn't done much to silence his skeptics during the preseason. Over three appearances, Whitehead has shot 4-for-19 (21%) from the field and 0-for-7 from three-point range. He'll likely open the regular season third on the depth chart at point guard behind Jeremy Lin and Greivis Vasquez.
