Kerr: McGee's chance of making Warriors is good
The 15th and final roster spot on the Golden State Warriors' roster appears to be JaVale McGee's to lose.
"I think he's got a good chance (of making the roster)," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said on Monday, according to the Mercury News' Anthony Slater. "He's had a good camp."
McGee has seen his minutes and role steadily increase over the course of the preseason, averaging 4.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 rejections in a reserve role over five games.
In Saturday's 112-107 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, McGee put forth his strongest performance in Warriors colours to date, finishing with a line of 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting, four rebounds, and two blocks in just 14 minutes.
The 28-year-old discussed how much it would mean to him to lock down a spot on the team.
"It would mean everything," he said. "I'm definitely trying to bring my talents here and help this squad win another championship, so that's all I'm really focused on. Whatever I have to do to be the one to help them."

The roster was trimmed down to 18 players when both Elgin Cook and Scott Wood were waived Oct. 9. Elliot Williams, Phil Pressey, and Cameron Jones are all still vying to make the team.
