Trail Blazers' Evan Turner: Fills out stat sheet in Tuesday start

Turner tallied nine points (3-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, three steals, two rebounds and a block across 28 minutes in Tuesday's 109-106 preseason victory over the Lakers.

Analysis:

Turner took his turn with the starting five at small forward and although he couldn't contribute much from the field, he offered plenty across the rest of the stat sheet. The versatile veteran is battling Maurice Harkless and Allen Crabbe for the starting job at small forward, but saw the former outperform him off the bench Tuesday. The competition should extend through the rest of the exhibition slate, but given Turner's ability to fill in at either guard spot in addition to small forward, he's a virtual lock for ample playing time in the coming campaign, regardless of how the depth chart shakes out.
