Durant: 'I'm just going to say how I feel from now on'

Kevin Durant doesn't appreciate the media twisting his words or shining a light on comments he makes with the hope of blowing them out of proportion.

From now on, the four-time NBA scoring champion is going to be an open book with less of a filter, and not worry about the consequences.

"Man, whatever I say is going to be twisted up," Durant said following the team's Tuesday practice, according to CSN Bay Arena's Monte Poole.

"So I can't ... I'm just going to say how I feel from now on. People that know me know what I mean, so it is what it is. Anything I say will be twisted up and be a headline. So it is what it is."

This comes on the heels of Durant saying what everyone pretty much assumed when he mentioned how he was "glad" the Golden State Warriors lost in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Since they weren't the champions, it made his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and head to the Bay Area a tad easier, since he wasn't jumping on the bandwagon of a roster that just captured a title.

Even so, who's to say what would have happened had the Thunder held on to their 3-1 lead over the Warriors in the Western Conference finals, instead of losing three-straight games and exiting in dramatic fashion.

This new attitude - if that's what it turns out being over time - for Durant is similar to that of new teammate Draymond Green, who was open about his recruitment of the 28-year-old prior to him even becoming an unrestricted free agent. Green is notorious for being a wild-card on the court and behind the microphone, so perhaps some of his demeanor is rubbing off on Durant.

The Warriors kick off their regular season on Oct. 25 at Oracle Arena when the visiting San Antonio Spurs come to town.
