Nuggets' Kenneth Faried: Starts Sunday's preseason game

Faried started at power forward in Sunday's 124-115 preseason loss to the Lakers, finishing with 10 points (3-5 FG, 4-8 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 25 minutes.

Analysis:

Faried came off the bench in the Nuggets' first two exhibition games, as the Nuggets went bigger up front with both Jusuf Nurkic and Nikola Jokic in the lineup. With Jokic (rest) sidelined Sunday, Faried slotted in at power forward while Nurkic moved over to center, but that's unlikely to be a common pairing when Jokic is available. It's unclear how exactly Faried will be utilized this season, but Nurkic's huge preseason to date could mean that Faried is forced to open the regular season in a bench role.
