76ers' Jerryd Bayless: Could miss start of regular season

Bayless (wrist) acknowledged Thursday that his injury could cause him to miss some time during the regular season, Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

Analysis:

Bayless' sore left wrist hadn't been viewed as a major issue up until this point, but he apparently suffered a setback recently, which could keep him unavailable for longer than anticipated. It's now expected that he'll miss most of the 76ers' preseason schedule, creating more opportunities for T.J. McConnell and Sergio Rodriguez to work with the top unit. McConnell is the favorite to take over as the starting point guard should Bayless be sidelined for the start of the regular season, but unless Bayless' injury lingers for multiple weeks beyond that, McConnell will probably struggle to produce lasting fantasy value.
