Grizzlies' Zach Randolph: Will come off the bench this season

Grizzlies coach David Fizdale said Wednesday that Randolph will come off the bench this season, Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.

Analysis:

Ex-Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger began experimenting with bringing Randolph off the bench last season, with the power forward starting 53 of 68 games. He still averaged 29.6 minutes per game on the campaign, but Randolph's playing time figures to take another hit with Fizdale taking over and wanting to run a more up-tempo attack. Randolph should still be a double-digit scorer off the bench while providing strong rebounding numbers, but the 35-year-old nonetheless stands to see a dip in his numbers. With Randolph heading to the bench, JaMychal Green looks like the favorite to start at power forward.
