Trail Blazers' Shabazz Napier: Only expected to play in emergency situations

Napier is only expected to be used in emergency situations for the Trail Blazers this season, CSN Northwest's Jason Quick reports.

Analysis:

The Trail Blazers mostly split the point guard duties between Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum last season, which appeared to leave Napier as no better than the third-string option at the position entering camp. However, coach Terry Stotts announced Tuesday that offseason acquisition Evan Turner would be next in line to see time at point guard on the occasions both Lillard and McCollum are off the floor, lessening the need for Napier even more. It still seems likely that Napier will make the Blazers' roster, but don't be surprised if he plays in less than half of the team's games this season.
