Bonner probably won't play with Spurs next season

It's a summer of goodbyes for San Antonio Spurs fans.

Not only did Tim Duncan retire, but veteran power forward Matt Bonner will likely follow suit by walking off into the desert sunset.

Bonner remains without a contract and he admitted in a recent interview on Concord News Radio that he's likely done with the Spurs.

"Currently they haven't signed me. Unless something changes going into the season, I'm probably not going to be with the Spurs," Bonner said.

Earlier in the offseason, Bonner expressed his desire to re-sign in San Antonio, but it was nothing more than a hopeful wish. Bonner is 36 years old, and was the 15th man in San Antonio last year.

This summer, the Spurs brought in Pau Gasol, Dewayne Dedmon, and David Lee to fill out their frontcourt rotation. They're only carrying 14 guaranteed contracts and could still bring Bonner back into the fold, but they'll likely look to add some younger players to complement their aging core.

Bonner is just one of six players to have played over ten seasons in San Antonio. The other five are all current or future Hall-of-Famers: George Gervin, Manu Ginobili, David Robinson, Tony Parker, and the most recent retiree, Duncan.
