Celtics' Jonas Jerebko: Contract guaranteed for 2016-17 season

The Celtics guaranteed Jerebko's $5 million contract for the 2016-17 season prior to Thursday's deadline, Henry McKenna of The Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

After inking a two-year deal with the Celtics last summer, Jerebko proved to be a capable role player during the regular season, averaging 4.4 points and 3.7 rebounds across 15.1 minutes per game in his 78 appearances. The 29-year-old's ability to stretch the floor makes him a useful reserve option at power forward, but Jerebko doesn't project to see much growth in his role in 2016-17, especially after the Celtics beefed up their frontcourt by reeling in free agent big man Al Horford on a max contract.
