The Minnesota Timberwolves are interested in trading for Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried, according to a source of the Sporting News' Sean Deveney.

Faried apparently is a favorite of new Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau, the two having served on USA Basketball's 2014 FIBA World Cup squad. The 26-year-old is signed through 2019 at a current-day bargain of about $12.8 million per season.

Faried is the Nuggets' most valuable trade chip because of this, and according to Deveney he does not feel included in Denver's rebuilding plans.

"Manimal" as he is known has averaged 12.3 points and almost nine rebounds per game in five NBA seasons. While undersized for a power forward at 6-foot-8 and lacking the perimeter shot of modern stretch-fours, Faried is known for his activity and toughness inside.
