Barnes: Re-signing with Warriors is 'out of my control'

Entering the summer as a restricted free agent, starting forward Harrison Barnes recognizes that his future in Golden State will likely rely heavily on the Warriors' cap situation.

"It's out of my control," Barnes told Scott Howard-Cooper of nba.com. "People say, 'Do you want to be here in Golden State?' A lot of it is, look, I love Golden State. I'd love to be here. But there's also some other factors that factor into that, you know what I'm saying?"

After starting in a combined 141 regular season games over the last two years, Barnes is likely to garner a max-level contract this summer. However, given Golden State's tight cap situation and their expected pursuit of Kevin Durant, the Warriors will find it difficult to keep Barnes should he demand the money he deserves.

Barnes isn't the only Warriors role player who has concerns about their future in the Bay Area, as starting center Andrew Bogut realizes he's a candidate to be moved should Golden State attempt to clear out cap space.

"Guys have definitely asked questions," Bogut said. "We're not immune to it. We've seen it. We've seen the rumors, heard the rumors, all that kind of stuff. Different guys at different times have been scratching their head and thinking, 'Why?'"
