Kerr on Westbrook non-call: 'I thought he walked'

Steve Kerr doesn't need to wait for the NBA's last-two-minute report to tell him what he already knows after having a front-row seat for Game 1's most controversial non-call.

During the Oklahoma City Thunder's stunning upset of the Golden State Warriors on Monday, Russell Westbrook appeared to drag his pivot foot in clear view of an official, which should have resulted in a turnover by way of traveling.

Instead, Westbrook was able to call a timeout with the Thunder up three and only 17.3 seconds remaining. He eventually made one of two free throws after the Warriors intentionally fouled out of the aforementioned timeout, turning the contest into a two-possession game.

"I thought he walked, but it wasn't called," Kerr said after the game. "That's the way it goes."

Kerr, who appeared incredulous as he reacted to the moment in real time, said he didn't speak to the game's officials about the non-call.

Game 2 of the Western Conference finals goes Wednesday night at Oracle Arena, with the Warriors facing an unfamiliar 1-0 series deficit.
