Nationwide Series regular Joey Gase will make his Sprint Cup Series debut this weekend, Go Fas Racing announced Thursday afternoon.

The 21 year-old Gase is currently 20th in the Nationwide Series point standings, driving the No. 52 Jimmy Means Racing Chevrolet. His best result of the season is an 11th place finish at Talladega’s spring race.

“I am very excited to get my first Cup start right here in the mid-west,” Gase said via press release. “We will have a lot of friends and family coming to support us this weekend at Chicagoland.”

Team co-owner Archie St. Hilaire is also excited about having Gase pilot his team’s car.

“It’s great to have Joey back behind the wheel for us, this time in the top series of NASCAR,” St. Hilaire said, (also via press release). "Joey knows how to run well and take care of his equipment. We look forward to this weekend and hopefully many more races with Joey in the Cup Series”.
