Report: Club America looks to move for FC Dallas' winger Fabian Castillo

Fabian Castillo, who signed a fresh five-year deal with FC Dallas in February, could be moving south of the border this winter with reports that Mexican giant Club America is looking to secure a deal for the winger.

A fee of around $7.5 million should be enough to prize the Texan franchise of its speedy flank wanderer, with a second source telling ESPN FC that the transfer is nearing its conclusion.

With veteran Rubens Sambueza appearing to be on his way out of the Azteca at the end of the current Apertura tournament, in which America welcomes rival Pumas on Saturday, the Colombian international offers a more youthful and arguably superior replacement.

Castillo was brought to Frisco as an 18-year-old in 2011 and established himself as one of Major League Soccer's most dangerous players in 2014, with 10 goals in 30 matches. This season he tallied another 10 strikes, while fashioning nine assists.

His talents have allegedly attracted the interest of Swansea City in the past.

FC Dallas face the Portland Timbers in the first leg of the Western Conference final on Sunday.
