Frank Lampard makes New York City FC debut in loss to Montreal Impact

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has made his Major League Soccer debut at long last, coming in for New York City FC at the 69-minute mark Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
Lampard came into the match for Andrew Jacobson after David Villa scored a goal to cut New York's deficit to 2-1 against the Montreal Impact.
The 37-year-old slotted in beside Andrea Pirlo in midfield, forming the most expensive midfield pairing in MLS. Lampard was supposed to make his debut two weeks ago but an ongoing calf issue has kept him out of the lineup.
New York would finish the game on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline, Montreal ruining Lampard's debut party.
