Shuttleworth earns 3rd shutout, Revs tie Crew
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) Bobby Shuttleworth had his third shutout in six games and New England played to a scoreless draw with Columbus on Saturday.
New England (2-2-2) is unbeaten in four games after losing its first two. Columbus (1-2-2) was held scoreless for the second time.
The Revolution's Juan Agudelo drew three defenders at the corner of the 18-yard box in the 36th minute and fed an unmarked Lee Nguyen, but his close attempt was saved by goalkeeper Steve Clark. Nguyen's free kick in the 65th minute was bobbled and quickly gathered by Clark.
Columbus' Aaron Schoenfeld controlled a pass with his chest in front of the goal in the 94th minute, but Shuttleworth stole the ball.
The Revolution beat the Crew in both legs of the 2014 Eastern Conference semifinals.
