Columbus - Columbus Crew SC capitalized on a first- half red card to claim a 2-0 victory over 10-man Toronto FC at Mapfre Stadium on Saturday.

The contest was marred by controversy just before halftime when Justin Morrow was harshly sent off for a seemingly legal sliding challenge on Ethan Finlay at the edge of the penalty area.

It took some time, but Columbus took advantage of the extra man by notching two goals in the span of four minutes.

The opener came in the 57th minute when Justin Meram nodded Finlay's cross just inside the far post.

Kei Kamara doubled the lead shortly after, guiding a dangerous cross from Waylon Francis on the left flank past Joe Bendik from close range.

Columbus closed out the match with ease to seal the win, collecting its first points of the season.
