Report: Michael Bradley replaces Steven Caldwell as Toronto FC captain
Michael Bradley was widely regarded as the leader of Toronto FC last season, and now, it seems he has the small piece of elastic fabric to make that title official.
TSN is reporting that the American midfielder has replaced Steven Caldwell as the club's captain ahead of the 2015 campaign.
An official announcement is expected on Tuesday.
The news comes less than a month after Caldwell expressed his delight at being the captain of the side and desire to continue in that role.
"I love being captain of this club," Caldwell said prior to pre-season training camp. "I've captained every team I've played for since I was 15. It's something I relish and enjoy. I think I'm quite good at it. It's a great honour to be captain of any club. I don't treat in lightly and I love being captain. I hope to stay."
