The Seattle Sounders have their man.
The club announced on Tuesday the appointment of Garth Lagerwey as general manager and president of soccer, scooping up one of the biggest offseason prizes in the league.
"I always said that if the best General Manager was available, I would hire that person to replace me. I believe that Garth is that man," Seattle owner Adrian Hanauer said of the move.
Lagerwey spent the past seven seasons with Real Salt Lake, overhauling a team that struggled after expansion and orchestrating a turnaround that culminated with a MLS Cup victory in 2009.
