COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Obafemi Martins scored twice, Clint Dempsey and Marco Pappa added goals, and the Seattle Sounders cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids on Sunday.

The Sounders (19-9-3) surpassed the club record for wins in a season set in 2010, and tied the LA Galaxy for the top spot in MLS for the third week in a row. The Rapids (8-15-8) also set a club record, extending their winless streak to 11 games.

Dempsey opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 11th minute. Martins scored in the 28th and Pappa in the 33rd, extending Seattle's lead to 3-0. Deshorn Brown scored the Rapids' lone goal in the 43rd minute, and Martins added his second goal in the 70th to cap the scoring.

Seattle hosts the Vancouver Whitecaps next week before finishing the regular season with a home-and-home series with the Galaxy to determine the Supporters' Shield winner.
