MLS Game Summary - Portland at Toronto FC

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Bradley scored the winning goal in the 89th minute to help Toronto FC complete a stunning second-half comeback to beat the Portland Timbers, 3-2, at BMO on Saturday.

The Timbers looked to be well on their way to three points as the visitors went up 2-0 in the first 16 minutes with a goal from Fanendo Adi and an own goal from TFC's Steven Caldwell.

However, Nick Hagglund scored twice in the span of eight minutes to drag the hosts back level, and Bradley scored in the final minutes from a free kick to lift TFC to three huge points, which moves the club level with Columbus for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Portland saw its four-game unbeaten streak snapped, and the club remains just two points clear of Vancouver for the final spot in the West with the Whitecaps facing Real Salt Lake later in the day.

Hagglund's day didn't start very brightly as he gave away the ball deep his own half, leading to Adi's goal in the 13th minute.

And just three minutes later, TFC was down 2-0 when Diego Valeri's low cross was redirected past goalkeeper Joe Bendik and into his own net by Caldwell.

Gilberto wasted a good chance on the half-hour mark for TFC, and Portland defender Pa Modou Kah almost handed a goal back when he deflected a chipped pass off his own post.

Toronto was clearly second best in the opening 45 minutes, but the home side started its comeback in the 62nd with a nice header courtesy of Hagglund following a right-wing cross from Daniel Lovitz.

Hagglund was on hand again eight minutes later to level the match when Bradley whipped in a free kick that found its way to the back post for Hagglund to turn home from close range.

And with just a few minutes to play, Bradley had a free kick on the left wing that he drove into the area. The ball skipped straight through a host of bodies and went untouched inside the right post to the surprise of Portland goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.
