Portland Timbers acquire Jeff Attinella from Minnesota United

The Portland Timbers have acquired goalkeeper Jeff Attinella from expansion outfit Minnesota United in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, the club announced Tuesday.
Attinella spent last season with Real Salt Lake but was selected by Minnesota in the Expansion Draft last week and has subsequently been traded to Portland ahead of the 2017 MLS season.
He made 29 appearances for Real Salt Lake since joining the club in 2013 and played largely as an understudy to Nick Rimando.
He'll compete with goalkeeper Jake Gleeson for a starting spot after the Timbers released Chris Konopka in the offseason.
