De Jong makes switch from LA Galaxy to Galatasaray
Nigel de Jong's time in Los Angeles has come to an end, before it could really begin.
Turkish club Galatasaray announced Wednesday it completed the signing of the Dutch midfielder on a two-year contract from the LA Galaxy.

De Jong, 31, joined Major League Soccer in February, but made just 18 appearances prior to departing for Turkey. He leaves with a pitiful statistical record, with no goals or assists while picking up a trademark red card.
His horrific challenge on Portland star Darlington Nagbe earlier in the year, which resulted in a three-match ban, will likely be his most memorable contribution with Bruce Arena's side.
Just don't tell the manager that.
Arena praised De Jong on Tuesday when it became clear the move was imminent, saying: "We have the greatest respect for Nigel. He's been a terrific addition to our team. He's a great professional and a great teammate. When healthy and given a chance to play in this league, he's been good.
"We don't have an educated public to understand what he does, but he's been an important member of our team."
