Altidore on the bench for San Jose clash

Toronto FC and United States international attacker Jozy Altidore has returned to MLS first-team duties after Greg Vanney named the 26-year-old forward to the bench for the club's visit to San Jose on Saturday night.

The 93-time capped international has missed more than two months after suffering a hamstring injury during a 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps on May 5.

The former New York Red Bulls forward returned to training the first week of July.

Altidore was forced to miss the USMNT's Copa America Centenario semi-final run after he picked up the hamstring concern as he fired a penalty wide during Toronto's loss to its Canadian rival.

No stranger to hamstring injuries, Altidore's latest ailment is his second thigh concern since he joined TFC in 2015 following an underwhelming spell with Sunderland.
