Toronto FC was dealt a massive blow Saturday against Orlando City as goalkeeper Clint Irwin went down injured in the 69th minute following a goal kick, clutching the inside of his right leg and requiring medical treatment before being replaced by Alex Bono.
While an official diagnosis will not be available until the coming days, reports from the stadium indicate that Irwin suffered a quad injury and will undergo an MRI before a timeline for his recovery is given.
Irwin joined the Reds at the top of the 2016 MLS season out of the Colorado Rapids and has played in every league match thus far this season.
