Montreal mounts big comeback vs. Columbus in 8-goal thriller

The Montreal Impact never gave up its pursuit of an away point in Saturday's wild contest against the Columbus Crew, clawing back from a three-goal deficit to leave MAPFRE Stadium with a 4-4 draw.

Dominic Oduro slid home the crucial equalizer for the visiting side in the 93rd minute, completing a remarkable second-half comeback. The Crew had built a 4-1 lead by the 53rd minute, with both Kei Kamara and Federico Higuain scoring twice to create what appeared to be a comfortable cushion.

But the Crew - who have slumped to second last in the Eastern Conference after reaching the MLS Cup final last year - contrived to throw away even more points at home.

The Impact needed its big guns as well. Ignacio Piatti scored in each half to increase his total to six goals on the season, and Didier Drogba converted a spot kick to put the Canadian club in a position to rally back.

Then, in stepped Oduro. The former Toronto FC man took advantage of a loose ball in the box, and made no mistake with a confident finish.

Montreal remains in first place in the East, while Columbus sits in ninth.
