Orlando City boss Adrian Heath rules Kaka out for New England match

Orlando City head coach Adrian Heath revealed Saturday that club captain Kaka will miss a second consecutive game ahead of a weekend fixture against the New England Revolution with a groin injury.

However, despite now missing two matches in a row, Heath says Kaka's injury isn't a long-term one:

"If it was a playoff game, he would be playing. We just won’t take any risks this early in the season," Heath said, according to MLSsoccer.com. "We have erred on the side of caution so far this season. It is a huge disappointment when he is not on the field, but we still have six months to go and we’re just trying to ease him through.

"We don’t want to push him and risk him being out for four or five weeks. He will be a big part for us this year and we don’t want him playing at the moment if he is not 100 percent."

The Lions currently sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, with Kaka making only three appearances this season, but scoring two goals and recording two assists in that time.

The Brazilian star also missed the first three matches of the season with a thigh strain.
