Freese batted third in Sunday's season opener, going 2-for-4 against the Cardinals.
Analysis:
He played error-free defense, contributing with a fine first-inning catch-and-throw on a dribble down the third-base line. Freese stranded four baserunners, but his spot in the lineup should offer plenty of RBI opportunities with John Jaso and Andrew McCutchen batting in front of him -- just keep in mind he'll lose full-time duty when Jung-Ho Kang returns in late April.
