Heyward worked out in right field during outfield drills Friday, the Cubs' official site reports.

Analysis:

When the Cubs signed Heyward to the big contract in December, they hoped he could handle center field, and he may still play the position at times in 2016, but right field is where he's more comfortable. Now that Dexter Fowler is back in the fold to play center, Heyward no longer has to anchor the outfield. Still, until the Cubs' outfield situation clears itself up, Heyward may have to occasionally cede at-bats to the likes of Jorge Soler in right, as there are just too many mouths to feed.
