Yankees reveal Super Bowl 50 predictions

Bob Stanton / USA TODAY Sports

Super Bowl 50 is right around the corner, and if you haven't decided who to root for yet, it's time to think about whether you fancy the Denver Broncos or the Carolina Panthers in the Big Game.

Major League Baseball players, unlike most other professional athletes, have plenty of time to take in NFL games during their offseason, usually making them pretty reliable football sources.

Several New York Yankees players have offered their predictions for the game, with the majority taking the favored Panthers to emerge victorious:

PLAYER VICTOR SCORE
Alex Rodriguez Panthers 28-17
Chase Headley Broncos 28-21
Jacoby Ellsbury Panthers 31-13
Joe Girardi Panthers 27-13
Mark Teixeira Panthers 20-16
Carlos Beltran Broncos 30-27
Andrew Miller Broncos 24-20
Didi Gregorius Panthers 24-20
Bryan Mitchell Panthers 34-20
Greg Bird Broncos 20-16
Nathan Eovaldi Panthers 34-27
Chasen Shreve Panthers 31-21
Ivan Nova Broncos 28-17

A-Rod, who turned down a scholarship from the University of Miami to play both football and baseball, probably won't be appearing as a guest analyst for the game after destroying a TV monitor with an errant pass on "FOX NFL Sunday" last October.
