Mike Trout's memorable over-the-wall catch in late September has secured him Topps' No. 1 baseball card for the 2016 season.

Topps made the reveal Thursday after fans participated in an online vote to select the poster image of this year's set, which will feature the Los Angeles Angels superstar as its first card when it's released Feb. 3. The 2016 campaign marks the 65th year for the iconic baseball card company.

"It's awesome. I appreciate the support from fans across MLB," Trout said. "It's pretty special to be the No. 1 card for Topps."

The card depicts one of the most enduring images from Trout's All-Star season: an incredible wall-scaling grab at Angel Stadium on Sept. 26 to rob the Seattle Mariners' Jesus Montero of a three-run homer.

Apart from the aesthetics of the grab, Trout's exceptional efforts helped the wild-card-chasing Angels edge the Mariners 3-2 in a pivotal game with significant playoff implications.

"It was pretty crazy, once I caught it, looking up at the replay and seeing the reaction by my teammates," Trout told reporters after the game. "It was a pretty special moment and a big play of the year."
