Marlins sign Maxwell, 3 others to minor-league deals

The Miami Marlins are building their depth.
Miami has signed outfielder Justin Maxwell to a minor-league contract.
The 32-year-old Maxwell appeared in 100 games for the San Francisco Giants last season, hitting .209/.275/.341 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs. He owns a career .220/.303/.399 slash line with 41 home runs, 133 RBIs, and 28 stolen bases in 441 games.
Miami also signed catcher Adrian Nieto, first baseman Xavier Scruggs, and right-hander Paul Clemens to minor-league deals.
